A very good friend of mine approached me in need of a website for his new clothing company. Standard Automotive Apparel is going to be pretty awesome from what I’ve seen so far. Gear for gear heads. I’m a fan. We set out to get a launch page set up while we build the website. The launch site is ready and we hope our fellow gearheads are as stoked about this new project as we are. Website Design: Samantha Jost Photography Launch Page

Many of you know that I have been an photographer for years now. I’ve spent the last several years traveling the country providing coverage of motorsports events. In the last year, however I’ve decided to make a shift into providing portrait and wedding photography as well. That said, I will be running a new company under my new name (soon to me Mrs.Jost) and the company and website will officially launch in September of 2013. I’m so excited about it, I’ll probably end up launching the darn thing from the airport when I’m waiting to leave for my honeymoon haha.

Help Us Save Drifting In Atlanta

I’m sure many of you who have been involved in Drifting in the Southeastern US recall the glory days of grassroots events from Southeast Drift at Turner Field in Atlanta, Georgia. This events were not only a blast, but they helped pave the way for the growth of Drifting as a sport throughout the southern US.

Many things have changed over the years, and although events at Turner Field are now headed by S2 Events, they are still an integral part of the grassroots motorsports scene. The most recent change is an ordinance passed by the Atlanta city council that prohibits Drifting on private property located within 1000 feet of a residential zone district. This ordinance is aimed directly at Drifting and would effectively eliminate Drifting at Turner Field and places like in the Atlanta area. It does not touch on the sound levels at Braves games, auto-X events, etc. So it’s very clear that we as a community are being singled out.

We can make a change to this amendment though. It is the hope of the Drifting community to convince Atlanta Mayor Kasim Reed to Veto this amendment and convince the council to remove the ordinance after the Veto. There are several ways YOU can help make this happen.

3) Share this on your social networks. The more support, the better.

Please keep in mind that if you choose to contact Mayor Reed, do so with kindness and maturity in mind. We want to show the Atlanta city council how these Drift events are a positive impact not only on Atlanta’s economy but on people in general. Show them that we are a proud community of motorsports enthusiasts and we love what we do.

We were absolutely ecstatic when the awesome folks over at OMG Drift approached us to redesign their website for their two year anniversary…

We didn’t want to stray too far from the signature OMG Drift green and purple color scheme, so we kept the design simple, increased accessibility functions and created a design that would really let the content itself stand out. We hope you guys love this project as much as we loved creating it!
